On the other hand, one can follow a juror, their reputation, their influences, and their own work to no avail. You can analyze and intellectualize their cravings for a particular visual palate and still miss the mark with your submission. Some artist will only submit their work for judgment to peers or friends, who will applaud the work but to me this lacks a confidence in the statue or integrity of the work or better yet, host a juror show of your own, to witness the process. As artist, we pour ourselves into our work, we spend intimate hours with it, communicating our inner thoughts yet we have to separate ourselves from our work or it messes with our psychic.
