Kind words Deb. Yes I feel like I had something really bad for lunch!
We keep plugging along because we really have no choice. It's what we do.
Thanks for your words of support.

People have dreadful days, which are subject to the environment, what they had for lunch, the weather, the news, personal conflicts, etc. We hope they are professionals rising above such influences but they are people. The same artwork presented to the same juror, can render BEST of show under different circumstances. It is a complex problem.

On the other hand, one can follow a juror, their reputation, their influences, and their own work to no avail. You can analyze and intellectualize their cravings for a particular visual palate and still miss the mark with your submission. Some artist will only submit their work for judgment to peers or friends, who will applaud the work but to me this lacks a confidence in the statue or integrity of the work or better yet, host a juror show of your own, to witness the process. As artist, we pour ourselves into our work, we spend intimate hours with it, communicating our inner thoughts yet we have to separate ourselves from our work or it messes with our psychic. Hang in there, Barry!!!!!

I fully understand that there are thousands of others in the same boat - feeling queezy and hoping for a bit of calm seas. If you're not seeing any light yet just know that it's there somewhere. The sun hasn't stopped shining just because the weather sucks.

Almost a complete ditto of your story, here on my end. I can not say I see the ray of hope just yet. I seem to bounce in and out of my art studio with a commitment like many Las Vegas weddings --for good, better or best or I am gone. Some days I accept this new life and other days I am in complete denial, flopping around like a fish out of water. Last week I was in wild horses can't drag me away mode. This week: "finding" something that stirs my passions in addition to studio work that will provide a means of support is breathing hot on my neck. UGH. I am getting sea sick.
